The Challenge
Make a short video (no more than 3 minutes) on the theme of Education and Skills.
- Any spoken language used in your video that is not English or French must be accompanied by the relevant subtitles in English or French.
- Your video must not contain violence, profanity, sex or direct attacks on individuals or organizations. Any entries deemed offensive will be immediately disqualified.
- Your video must be your own original creation - no copyrighted music, video, or images may be used.
- Your video must not infringe on any third party rights.
- Your video must not have been produced for compensation or posted previously on any OECD Web page.
The Prize
An all expenses-paid trip to Paris, France to attend the OECD Forum on 22-24 May 2012. The Prize will be awarded to three winning videos selectd by our Jury. If a winning video is a group effort, then a nominated representative will be invited to Paris.
To Enter
To be eligible for prizes, you must be aged between 18 and 25 years during the period of this competition (14 December 2011 to 31 March 2012). That means you must have been born on or between 15 December 1985 and 1 April 1994. Proof of identity will be required from all finalists.
Judging
After the competition closes at midnight (Paris time) on 31 March 2012, a Jury will decide the three winners. Videos will be judged in terms of creativity, originality, message content and overall presentation (sound and picture quality).
Three competition winners will be announced on 16 April 2012 and notified by e-mail, as well as published on this website.
General
- You must complete and send your video link using the online Registration Form if you wish to enter this competition.
- By submitting your video to the OECD, you agree to grant the OECD free of charge the right to use your video in any manner and media, including without limitation, the right to publish, adapt, distribute, copy, display or translate. You also grant the OECD the right to licence to others.
- You agree to take part in any competition publicity if asked to do so, according to the terms of the video release form. The prize may only be taken as stated and cannot be changed. There will be no cash alternatives.
- The OECD does not accept any responsibility for late or lost entries. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
- You must supply full details as required by the registration form, and comply with all rules to be eligible for the prize(s). No responsibility is accepted for ineligible entries or entries made fraudulently.
- As submissions are received, OECD will vet all entries for suitability.
- The producers of each of the three winning videos (one person per entry if a joint effort) will be invited to Paris (travel, hotel accommodation and a daily living allowance will be provided) for the duration of the OECD Forum in May 2012.
- The Jury's decision is final in every situation, including any not covered above, and neither the Jury nor the OECD will respond to correspondence justifying its decision.
- If a winning entrant is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made to do so, the OECD reserves the right to offer the prize to the next best entry.
- OECD reserves the right to not select a winner or winners if entries received are judged to be of insufficient quality.
- Any attempt by a participant to influence the result or subvert the competition will lead to immediate disqualification.
- The OECD reserves the right to modify or cancel the Competition or any of the arrangements, schedules, plans or other items directly or indirectly related to the Competition, at any time and for any reason if deemed necessary in its opinion.
- You waive all claims against the OECD, its personnel and agents arising out of any oral or written publication or republication of any statement made in connection with the present Competition, your person or your video entry.
- You agree to indemnify and hold the OECD, its personnel and agents, harmless from any third party claims for loss, damage, prejudice, liability or expense suffered as a result of or in any manner in connection with your video entry, any other of your acts or omissions or any information which you provided.
- Your participation in the Competition, including being selected to receive a prize, in no manner constitutes an endorsement or support by the OECD of your views or aims or of any products or services. You shall not advertise or otherwise claim to have obtained any such endorsement or support. The OECD name and logo are the property of the OECD and should not be used in any manner whatsoever without the prior consent of OECD. The OECD must approve in writing any statement, advertisement, press release or similar communication in any media, relating to your participation in the Competition.
